Prior to attending law school, Mr. Carey worked for a number of years in commercial lending with General Motors. During law school, he clerked with a personal injury law firm, eventually attaining partnership before leaving to co-found Carey & Hamner, P.C. with Steven R. Hamner.
Active in church and community, Mr. Carey and his wife have one child. He serves as a deacon at Bay Springs Baptist Church, and previously served for many years on the board of directors at Emmanuel Christian School.
